Today’s branding Business Spotlight is on Patricia Brown @patriciabrown0213, a Windsor lawyer whose path from social work to law reflects her commitment to advocacy and a truly client-centered approach.

Q. Why did you start your business/profession?

Before becoming a lawyer I worked as a social worker in both Southeast Michigan and Windsor, Ontario. Although that was a rewarding endeavor, I wanted to do more for my clients. In my opinion, they were not being properly heard.  I aspired to be their voice, their representative. I also felt that being the fiercest possible defender could be best achieved in my own law office with no impediments, purely a client-centred approach to advocacy.

Q. What do you offer?

Legal services and legal representation before the Criminal Courts (all levels); Consent and Capacity Board (Mental Health Advocacy); and the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada.

Q. Why did you want photos?

When people research me, they can better associate a face with a name.

Q. Your best piece of advice:

Never give up on your dreams. Just focus on your goals. Have tunnel vision, yet still wear blinders so you're not worried about what everyone else is doing. It will all work out in the end with hard work.
