At the intersection of health care, leadership, and innovation is today’s Branding Spotlight, Dr. Danielle Paes — a leader who’s redefining what it means to create systems that truly serve people. (Chief Innovation Officer + Chief, Pharmacist Officer) @cdnpharmchief

Q. Why did you start your business/profession?

I didn’t just want a career in healthcare; I wanted to make a difference. Over the years, I realized my unique value was in bringing people together, shaping ideas, and helping leaders grow. Launching my consulting business gave me the freedom to combine my passion for health care with my love of strategy, storytelling, and leadership—while staying true to who I am. It’s allowed me to take my wealth of knowledge and experience I gained at Chief Pharmacist Officer at the Canadian Pharmacists Association and channel it into helping organizations think differently, lead with purpose, and design systems that truly serve people.

Q. What do you offer?

I offer clarity, strategy, and inspiration. Through my consulting practice, I work with health-care leaders and organizations to drive innovation, build inclusive workplaces, and strengthen leadership at every level. My goal is to help people move from ideas to action—growing their impact while staying true to their values.

Q. Why did you want photos?

Branding photos were a fun way to align the story and layers of who I am with the work I do. Since my mission is to humanize health care and leadership, I wanted images that reflect warmth, confidence, and authenticity — qualities that help people feel connected to me and the message I bring.

Q. Your best piece of advice:

Leadership isn’t about being the loudest voice in the room—it’s about being the most authentic. Be courageous enough to show up as yourself, and you’ll give others permission to do the same.

Too often we think leadership means having all the answers, but in reality, it’s about asking better questions, listening deeply, and creating space for others to shine. The most effective leaders are the ones who lead with both head and heart.
